Payment
Tuition is payable monthly and due on the first of the month. The payment will fluctuate based on the number of lesson days per month, and we’ll consult the calendar to determine that on payment day. There may also be holidays for which we can either substitute a different lesson day, or we can skip and deduct the day from the payment. I accept Zelle, cash, or checks.
Student lesson cancellations
For the sake of continuity and progress, it’s important not only to practice at home, but to maintain regularity with your formal lessons. That said, however, if you can’t make it to a lesson, you need to let me know at least one day in advance so I can try to schedule a make-up lesson for you. If you need to cancel a lesson the same day, I can’t guarantee that a makeup lesson will be possible, and payment for that lesson may be forfeited. I’ll do what I can, but no promises. The maximum number of make-up lessons per year is four. (If there are any additional absences prior to the student’s next anniversary, payment will be forfeited.) A lesson missed without any prior notice will not be made up. But also keep in mind that an online lesson is always a possibility, as I’ve had great success even teaching a few students exclusively online.
Teacher cancellations
I make every effort to minimize my own absences. If I need to cancel a lesson for any reason, I’ll either defer that lesson’s money to your next payment, or reschedule the lesson with you, whatever is mutually acceptable. The bottom line is that you would never be charged for a lesson that I have to cancel for whatever reason.
Arrival
Please plan to arrive either right at your lesson time, or even a few minutes early (in case you need to wash your hands or use the bathroom) so we can begin promptly. I may not be able to extend the ending time of your lesson if we begin late due to a late arrival.
